Message International Z Summit ‘04

This was the first (of possibly an annual gathering) event of the International Z Summit. Why is it called this? Well, George [ZEngineer(TT)] and his lovely wif…errrr girlfriend decided it would be nice to take a 6 hour drive from Canada to Spee, Massachusetts just to work on his car. Knowing that George was going to be here in the states, other tt.net members wanted to come over to hang out and verbally abuse the canuck in person. With this cast of characters, I was worried about an “international incident” that might strain US and Canadian relations. I had the number to the White House handy just in case… :-)

Aaron (JDMSmittyZ32) and Ian (titvillus37) came along to meet up with George. We met him at a Cracker Barrel restaurant and then caravanned back to my place. I think George liked the bling on the Mistu Galant parked next to him.

So, what do you get when you order a burger with everything on it, but hold the burger, the bun, the mayo, the lettuce, the cheese, and the onion? Mustard and ketchup:

Here’s a quick snapshot of the group parked in my driveway (Tony – BigTDogg joined up with us a little bit later, but by then George’s car was on the lift so a group shot of all the Z’s would have to wait until dinner time:

At this point, my camera sat while we worked on the George’s Z. We took his wheels off so he could get new tires mounted and while that was being done we installed a 300° Camber correction kit. Also, we did a boost leak check and discovered 2 leaks – one we were able to fix, but the other will have to wait for another time. I’m sure someone else shot some pictures of the work on George’s car and they’ll get posted shortly. Warning, some animal husbandry pictures may show up…..

After we finished with George’s car, it was time to move the summit activities to the Outback Steakhouse for dinner (yes, this is the same O/B Steakhouse that some of the road weary ZCON ’03 travelers met at around this time last year).

Here’s a couple of candid shots of the group, you can see that there are some intense nuclear disarmament negotiations taking place:

Not to be left out: Ian and Jessica (his g/f):

This photo is begging for a caption. (Aaron doing his best Wagz imitation; Tony looking up to Aaron saying: “What chu talking ‘bout Willis?”; etc…) Obviously, this was not the camera wars kind of group:

After dinner, it was one last chance to get pictures of the group before everybody went in separate directions:

Tony’s TT:

Aaron’s TT (note the foglight ducts)

Ian’s TT:

George’s TT (think yellow snow):

My Z (crappy pic):

Lastly, George and Aaron performed the closing ceremonies to bring this summit to a close on a happy note (and lighter bladders; this is a real pic, they were not posing)

Thanks again to George and Lisa for driving all that way to come out just for tires and the camber kit installation. Thanks also to Aaron and Tony for making the long drive from Maine and the Boston area respectively. Honorable mention goes to Ian and Jessica (they didn’t have as long of a drive as the others :-))

I hope everyone had a great time and let’s try to do this again.
